Colonic Irrigation for the 21st Century.
Colonic Irrigation for the 21st Century.
Elegance, simplicity & dignity
The Angel of Water Colonic hydrotherapy is the most gentle yet effective system. Unlike more aggressive manual treatments, The Angel of Water is a relaxing experience that allows the entirety of the colon to be cleansed. A treatment that has been practised for thousands of years, colonic hydrotherapy has countless benefits. As leaders in the field, our clients seek us out to address a multitude of concerns, including relieving constipation, aiding weight loss, treating brain fog, improving digestion, increasing energy, and strengthening immunity. As toxins and buildup are removed, the natural gut pH will be restored. The gut can now absorb nutrients effectively, and a cleansed environment will promote healthy bacteria growth. The bowel is stimulated and reset, promoting a regular rhythm of bowel movements and many other health and well-being benefits for our clients.
Revolutionising Colon Irrigation
Water is the primary substrate of our bodies, the very essence of life. Throughout all of history, water has been used to create a hydrated and hygienic internal environment. The Angel of Water’s advanced design now brings elegance, simplicity and dignity to colon irrigation. The Angel of Water Surround, a gravity fed, open design is the premier colon irrigation system and is the first choice for hospitals and clinics around the world. Whether used prior to an endoscopic or radiological exam, as a pre-operative prep procedure, or for preventative maintenance programmes, the Angel of Water is the safest, simplest and most effective solution.
After the patient is comfortably positioned, the rectal nozzle is inserted about 1½ inches. A gentle flow of gravity-fed, 100 degree water begins. Water flowing into the colon initiates peristalsis, and the patient responds by releasing water and waste repeatedly over the course of 40 minutes. This progressive irrigation and hydration that starts at the rectum, goes through the transverse section and then to the cecum, breaks up waste matter and achieves the complete evacuation of the colon. The result is a hygienic internal environment.

Frequently asked questions about colon irrigation
1. Is colon irrigation safe?
Yes. In fact, with the Angel of Water, sessions are much safer and easier than the common enema.
2. How does a colon irrigation treatment compare to an enema?
An enema only reaches the rectum and lower part of the colon, whereas with colon irrigation the entire length of the colon is reached, and it is many more times effective. According to learnt centenarian Dr Norman Walker, “One colon irrigation is equivalent to 30 enemas.”
3. Do the treatments hurt?
No. In fact, many people report their colon irrigation sessions as being both refreshing and relaxing.
4. How much of the intestines are actually cleansed during a colon irrigation treatment?
It is possible to cleanse the entire length of the colon during a professionally administered session. The small intestine is not specifically involved; however, the small intestine may be cleansed with the help of an oral intestinal cleanser and with a predominantly fibre-filled fruit and vegetable-based diet.
5. Are there any contraindications to colon irrigation using the Angel of Water?
If you have a concern about your health or the appropriateness of colon irrigation for you, you should consult your physician or licensed/certified healthcare practitioner. Contraindications for the use of the Angel of Water include, but may not be limited to, recent colon, rectal or abdominal surgery; congestive heart failure; intestinal perforations; carcinoma of the rectum; fissures or fistulas; severe haemorrhoids; unrepaired abdominal hernia; renal insufficiency; the first or last trimester of pregnancy; and cirrhosis of the liver. Professionally administered colon irrigation is otherwise very safe.
6. Is there any possibility of bacterial or viral contamination from prior use of the colon irrigation equipment?
The Angel of Water system uses single-use, sterile rectal nozzles. The use of sterile disposables coupled with the implementation of the Angel of Water’s multi-stage sanitation protocol leaves no danger of cross-contamination.
7. How long does a session take?
The actual session time is approximately 40 minutes, but you should plan on about 1 ½ hours for your first consultation with the session.
8. Does having a menstrual period at the time of a colon irrigation session have any effect on the experience?
No. Some consider it a good time to have a session since your body is already cleansing. Menstrual flow will not interfere with the success of the session. However, some women prefer to wait until after their period is over to do a cleansing session.
9. What should I do to prepare for a colon irrigation cleansing?
Hydrate well with water in the 24 hours leading up to your session and refrain from taking solid foods for 2 hours before. Come relaxed for a positive session.
10. Will I experience any intestinal discomfort or fatigue after the cleansing?
Usually not, but everyone is different. Some report a slight feeling of tiredness, but this is similar to the feeling you have after exercising vigorously. After a session, clients may elect to take a warm cup of vegetable broth, juice, kefir or herbal tea as a refreshment.
11. Can I work directly after having colon irrigation?
Yes. You can work just as you would after a regular bowel movement.
12. Will I be left alone during the Angel of Water colon irrigation session?
No. A certified Angel of Water practitioner will be monitoring you throughout the session for both your comfort and safety.
What should I do before my appointment?
Drink two litres of water or herbal teas every day for a few days in advance of your Angel of Water treatment; sessions are more productive when you are properly hydrated.
Avoid dairy products, red meats, shellfish, processed carbohydrates (potatoes, white rice, pasta, etc.), fast food, sugar, and carbonated beverages, including carbonated water, for as long as you can before your appointment.
On the day of your session, eat nourishing foods, unless you are fasting or following a specific detox programme. We advise you to avoid eating for the two hours before your treatment.
Wear Loose Clothing:
Clothing from the waist down will only need to be removed for the colon hydrotherapy session. It is best to wear loose clothing so you can quickly slip out and put on what you need after the session is complete.
What should I do after my appointment?
After your Angel of Water Colonic, the body may feel weary and/or relaxed. This is your body working out and processing through its cleaning treatment; proper rest is important at this time to give your body time to rejuvenate.
Ask us questions! Our highly experienced and friendly hydrotherapists are on hand to ensure you are happy and confident throughout your treatment. Remember, no question is silly, so feel free to ask us anything.
Immediately after receiving colon hydrotherapy, it is important to:
Drink plenty of liquids (purified water, juices, herb teas and electrolyte liquids). This will help to replace the fluid lost during the procedure and keep your body hydrated. You may also want to drink some herbal tea or eat some soup to help replenish your electrolytes.
Avoiding spicy, greasy, or processed foods is also a good idea after a colonic.
Avoid eating raw vegetables straight after the treatment. Steamed vegetables and raw fruit are sufficient. (To be chewed very thoroughly).
Reduce meat consumption (especially beef, pork and chicken), alcohol, caffeine and sugar intake.
The day after your colonic treatment you can expect to feel lighter, brighter, less bloated, cleansed and have more energy. It is not unusual sometimes after a really good evacuation to feel tired for about a day or two post-treatment.
Since the colon has been cleared of solid matter, it may take one or 2 days before it fills up again and normal bowel movements are resumed. Some water is absorbed through the colon wall during a colonic, and one may notice an increased need to urinate for a few hours afterwards.
